The Abyss league and Hardcore Abyss league are the current challenge leagues. The leagues started on December 8, 2017 alongside the release of the War for the Atlas expansion. (Version 3.1.0) All characters and stashes will be moved to Standard league and Hardcore league respectively when the leagues end. Characters that die in the Hardcore Abyss league are immediately moved to the permanent Standard league. Today we are sharing with you found an Ancient in Abyss League that we found on the POE forums. Let’s see it.
1) I made a AW league starter and am hating it. i really wanted to go back to wanding like i did last league but seeming as this time i want to be taking advantage of the wand specific “extra % of phys as element” nodes (especially with new shaper mods doing the same thing potentially) phys wander seemed like the choice this time, despite the fact that finding a good rare phys wand is like one in a million or some shit.
Then eye jewels came along. piscators can’t not be the most powerful wand in ideal situations now, 108 ele damage, and you could squeeze ten of these onto a build (lets not pretend shroud isn’t bis chest), plus 21 added lightning, that’s like wearing nearly 6 pairs of hysteria gloves at the same time. i mean, you miss out on the %life, crit multi, and aps you would get on regular jewels, but flats man, flats may be the new heels.
2) Yeah but thats the thing, im not sure if i can even be bothered investing any more PoE orbs into the build right now. it performs well, but isn’t really my cup of tea, im not a spike, so i can’t appreciate numbers for the sake of numbers. i genuinely enjoyed wanding, and its screen clear was insane, but im already experiencing faster kills on map bosses (bosses that haven’t changed and are at the same tiers they used to be) with dual aw and budget gear (5 link instead of 6, mostly rares equipped, no steel rings to compare to my old dual opal wander), so yeah i know its powerful, and it could go much further, but im not enjoying my time in poe while playing this, like its nice to be good at lab runs, but the build just feels like the most absolute worst way to ruin weapon identity and just turn every item slot into a stat stick hole. i mean, its kinda neat if you pretend its like an oldschool tower defence, but apart from that, feels stale to me already.
The thing is, for every flag damage jewel you use, you are missing out on using a crit multi jewel. So there is a point where the crit multi is more effective than more flat damage added. It’s probably not going to be your first flat damage added jewel. More like the 4th one or something. Less if you have flat damage on rings and amulet.
3) Once you get 2 or 3 of them in your build, a 50% increased damage, or 50% increase crit multi jewel will be more effective. So it’s not stupidly broken, just very strong. And given how much flat damage you can get from gear and support Chaos orbs, you may find that using this over a 50% increased jewel actually lowers your total dps.
